QA Fundamentals

Build the mindset first, then learn to communicate what you find. Sprint 1 now moves from quality fundamentals through software and testing lifecycles, testing approaches, professional QA thinking, and precise bug reporting before finishing with a hands-on defect-report project.

Your First QA Project

You will test a CaraQAway-built practice application containing one known defect in the assigned scope. The purpose is to prove that you can recognize the behavior, reproduce it, cut unnecessary steps, and communicate one exact defect professionally.

  • Identify the relevant environment and preconditions.
  • Reproduce the known defect and reduce the path to the shortest reliable steps.
  • Write a precise defect title using feature/location + condition/action + incorrect behavior.
  • Separate Actual Result from Expected Result.
  • Document reproducibility, severity, user/business impact, and useful evidence.
  • Review the report for filler, vague words, blame, and unsupported root-cause guesses.
Practice app: The app link will be inserted once the CaraQAway seeded-bug application is selected. The Bug Report Builder is already live inside Sprint 1.
